Legacy of Academic Excellence
The Institute of Fashion Technology Kerala (IFTK) commenced its academic activities in technical collaboration with the National Institute of Fashion Technology, bringing world-class academic rigour and industry-oriented fashion education to Kerala. Subsequently, IFTK obtained affiliation from the University of Kerala and became the first Government of Kerala institute in the state to offer the professional four-year Bachelor of Design (B.Des) programme in Fashion Design. In 2019, IFTK also received approval from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), further strengthening its academic credibility and professional standing.

The Program
Bachelor of Design (B.Des) – Fashion Design
This is a 4-year degree affiliated with the University of Kerala. It’s designed to be a thorough journey—starting with the basics of drawing and draping and moving into advanced garment production, textile science, and the business side of fashion marketing.
