  • The course is suitable for everyone who needs a basic idea of first aid response. This will aid the individual to identify when someone needs medical attention or just primary first aid. The course touches on how cardiac arrest happens and how to deliver effective CPR.

  • For individuals who need to deliver the basic first aid response before the arrival of the qualified first aider. E.g. Office Employees, Laborers, Home Personnel, Public, Commercial premise staff, Immediate Supervisors, Front Liners, etc.

  • This 4-hour course teaches individuals how to recognize everyday emergencies and care for an injury or illness until professional help arrives.

COURSE OUTLINE
  • Define First Aid
  • Identify limitations and legal responsibility to First Aid
  • Explain the 3 aims of First Aid
  • Identify the priority order of victims in an emergency
  • Describe the Roles and Responsibilities of a First Aider
  • Perform Patient Assessment during any incident 
  • Perform Primary and Secondary Survey
  • Conduct a demonstration on “DRSABCD” and Recovery Position
  • Explain the 4 parts of a Chain of Survival
  • Define Cardiac Arrest and Identify the reasons for Cardiac Arrest
  • Understand and Conduct a demonstration on CPR for an adult 
  • Identify when to stop CPR
  • Identify the types of bleeding and the different types of wounds.
  • Perform a demonstration on proper bandaging techniques
  • Identify the signs and symptoms of Schock and conduct a return demonstration of its First Aid
  • Identify the different forms of Heat stress 
  • Recognize the symptoms of Heat Stress
  • Identify how to manage Heat stress and signs and symptoms
  • Identify how to manage heat stress 
  • Electrical injuries
